A space for people navigating complexity

You Don’t Have To Fit Into One Box To Belong Here

Mixed-race & Multicultural Individuals

Living between cultures, belonging everywhere - and nowhere.

Navigating Inter-Racial Relationships

Exploring love across cultures, identities, and differences - with care, and understanding.

Identity Explorers and Deep Feelers

Looking for something more honest, more spacious, more you.

Hi, I’m Julia

I created Little Satori for people who don’t always feel like they fully belong in one place.

As a biracial Japanese-Brazilian, and an American living in the US for 20 years who has navigated identity, culture, and not fitting neatly into one box, I understand how complex - and sometimes isolating - that experience can feel.

My work is grounded in creating a space where you don’t have to explain or simplify who you are. A space where all parts of you are welcome.

What you might be holding

Experiences many people share when navigating identity, relationships, and belonging.

Identity Confusion

Feeling like you don’t fully belong anywhere - or unsure which parts of you are “allowed” to take up space.

Cultural Pressure

Holding expectations from family, partners, culture, or community that don’t match who you are becoming.

Relationship Disconnection

Struggling to feel understood or fully seen - even in close relationships.

Therapy doesn’t have to feel rushed

Little Satori isn’t about rushing toward answers or trying to “fix” yourself. It’s about creating space to understand what’s already there - gently, and at your own pace.

Not Quick Fixes

Here, we don’t rush to solutions. Meaningful shifts begin with slowing down and making sense of your experience.

Not Performance Based

There’s no pressure to say the “right” things or make quick progress. You don’t have to perform or prove anything here.

Slower, More Attuned Work

We move at a pace that feels right for you - paying attention to what’s subtle, meaningful, and often overlooked.

How I can help

Therapy isn't about becoming someone different. It's about creating space to understand yourself more deeply, navigate life's complexities with greater flexibility, and reconnect with what already exists within you.

Whether you're exploring identity, relationships, cultural experiences, or emotional challenges, we'll work together with curiosity, compassion, and care.

Some things are hard to say in a second language. And some feelings don’t translate at all.

Therapy in your language

Little Satori is a space to express yourself without translating your thoughts or emotions - in a language that carries your nuance, culture, and experience. Speak freely, naturally, and fully - without having to search for the “right” words in another language.

If you feel more at home expressing yourself in Japanese or Portuguese, therapy can happen in the language that feels most natural to you. Because being understood shouldn’t require extra effort.

What clients have shared

  • "In the four months that I have been working with Julia, I've experienced tremendous growth in my ability to cope with the ups and downs of life with confidence and acceptance. Julia's empathy, lack of judgement, and collaborative nature has fostered a space for me to explore my trauma and experiences without fear. Not only that, Julia has equipped me with practical tools to begin to recognize and respond to my anxious thoughts. These are life-changing habits that have improved my quality of life by a large margin. Since starting therapy with Julia, a sense of calm, peace, and gratitude pervades my life and my relationships; my judgement of events is less fixed and more flexible. I can't thank her enough for the care she's paid to understanding my individual story. A life that once felt heavy and insurmountable now feels like an open field of opportunity. This flexibility of mind is a continual process and practice, which I hope to continue with Julia, who has been a gentle and skilled guide through the process of self discovery."

  • "I've been seeing Julia for a couple of months now, and she is so great! Julia is everything I have been looking for in a therapist, she is patient, understanding and thoughtful. I feel comfortable speaking my mind with her, and she always has constructive advice for me to apply after I leave her office. I never feel like she's just sitting there like other therapists, she really actively listens, asks questions, and help me challenge my negative thoughts. I started seeing her for work related anxiety, and talking to her every week really has made a difference in my life. I feel super lucky that I found her, and look forward to our sessions, which was never my experience with therapy before her. I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a therapist!"

  • "Julia has been very kind, understanding and a great active listener from the day we started working together. It was my first experience with psychotherapy and I was a little nervous about it, but she made the environment feel safe for me to open up and judgement free. She is always willing to listen and help when needed. Having her support during a tough time in my life has been a tremendous help and given me a sense of serenity."

  • "Julia is a very caring and intelligent therapist. She listens to all my issues. Gives me her perspective on the situation. As well as offer ideas I can do on my own to improve whatever may be going on at the time. She is attentive and after having a therapy session with her. I always seem to feel much better whether it has been a good week or a bad week."

  • "This is my first experience with a therapist and so far it has been a good one. Julia is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. She took the time to get to know me and when I appeared to not get something, she explained things further to make sure we were on the same page. Overall, I am pleased with the progress so far and look forward to our sessions."
